local riding this weekend?

Postby nina » July 29th, 2010, 9:31 pm

HI everyone,

My crazy July work schedule is over on Friday! Yay!! Between that and my broken rib I've hardly ridden this season at all. I'm looking to do a rehab/get off my fat a** ride (ie--I'm so out of shape its appalling!!) I'd love to do 7th plus something else but I have to warn you that the climb up will probably take a year. That being said I'm up for almost anything. Even shuttling would be more exercise than I've been getting!

I'm open for days/times.

Are you willing to ride with someone who's slow both up and down?

I haven't ridden more than three times this season, and I'm so out of practice I think I may have lost a skill level. Or confidence. Whichever.

I'm willing to try 7th, but am nervous. Haven't done 7th in 3 years or so. Will ride thru nerves though.

How's Saturday morning?

Are you guys off on Monday afternoon? I've never tried 7th (I'm assuming you mean the trail at the top on fromme) I would be up for giving it a go if you're cool with me being on the slow up and down bandwagon.. :-)

I'm cool with people being slow!

I think up to 7th twice in one weekend might be too much for my first weekend back to riding! Sat am I will probably be asleep to be perfectly honest--I've had a crazy few weeks and am completely bagged.

So either Sat pm or Monday. Let me know...

Saturday afternoon we're going out to Vanier park with Lyra so we can picnic and wait for the Fireworks, and I'm unfortunately working on Monday, so both are out for me.

I'm awake early every day whether I want to be or not. Usually to the sound of 'mommy, wake up. Mommy, wake up. Mommy, wake up!!' until I relent and get out of bed.

Hey everyone.
My riding buddy just cancelled our plan to ride Burnaby mountain (gear jammer). If anyone's interested in joining me, my cell is 778-834-4457.
Thanks!!

It may be too late now, but if not then I'd join you for a Fromme ride tomorrow. I would be pushing up to 7th because I just got back from an xc ride & my legs are tired, but I'm free all day & open to ideas about trails.

SORRY everyone!! I ended up driving to Kamloops at the last minute to see my family--so no riding for me.

I'm down with riding, but no climbing.
My awesome experience with heatstroke last time I rode Grouse plus my ripped MCLs not liking climbing means I am a shuttle whore exclusively now.
Crappy thing is I only got a Golf, but I got $$$ for gas
