April Fools Suckahs!

Muddbunnies Riding Club thanks you for supporting Women who Ride

HUGE thanks go out to everyone that attended the Vancouver premiere of Awesome Land: Women of Dirt!

The evening was a great success and a good time was had by all. Some fantastic swag was given out as door prizes thanks to generous donations from Cycles Lambert, Bones over Metal, Cycle Component Network, Between the Bridges, and Muddbunnies.

Muddbunnies Riding Club is dedicated to supporting women who ride so when the opportunity arose to host this premiere we felt our club was a perfect fit. It was inspiring to see so many local female riders excel in the sport we all love and watching them ride local trails made everyone want to get out there!

Between ticket sales, generous donations from guests, and 50/50 sales, the club has a better starting budget for 2010 than any year in its history! Way to go!

Special thanks go out to the co-filmmakers Mark Brent and Miles Sullivan from Bones over Metal for allowing Muddbunnies the rights to premier the movie and retaining 100% of ticket sales to support club activities. Woot woot!

We would also like to thank Between the Bridges, esp their manager Binnie, their audiovisual guy Sudz and their servers for accommodating the larger than expected crowd. Good job!

Copies of the DVD are still available and can be purchased at http://bonesovermetal.com/womenofdirt/ or the Muddbunnie online store.

Awesome Land: Women Of Dirt is a unique look into the world of Downhill Racing, Dirt Jumping and Freeriding. This film looks through the eyes of the wondrous women that have helped grow the sport of Gravity Mountain Biking with their strength and courage. Other mountain bike films have overlooked these vibrant and dedicated women, but no longer! Awesome Land: Women Of Dirt celebrates the mountain bike while celebrating the women who love them. A beautiful and energetic film that opens a window into an awesome world.

Muddbunnies welcomes Different Bikes as Gold Sponsor

Muddbunnies Riding Club presents our Gold Sponsor for 2009: Different Bikes! We are pleased to work with such a well known and respected bike shop. Many of you know Different Bikes not only for their great services, prices and products, but for their continual support of their local riding community.

If you don’t already know, here’s a bit more about Different Bikes!

Service:
Personal, responsive and friendly service is our first priority and how we really strive to be “different”.

Stores:
We back our service vision with simple, welcoming and efficient stores, fair prices guaranteed, helpful advice from experienced staff, and world class products.

Community:
We commit to support riding, riders and our communities. We especially try to help kids and youth to develop healthy lifestyles, to ride safely and to just “ride more”. This community focus means that Different Bikes regularly contributes to local charities, programs and organizations that support health, fitness, safety, and access.

History:
Different Bikes incorporated in late 2005, and we opened our first bike shop, in West Vancouver, in February of 2006.

Our simple idea of delivering consistently excellent service in a friendly environment seemed to catch on quickly! We built on that success and added a second bike store in North Vancouver in March 2007.

In spring of 2008, we added a 3rd bike shop to the Different Bikes family – this one in Vancouver, when an existing successful shop (formerly Cyclepath Broadway) joined the DB family.

Now in our fourth season, we are one of the largest independent bicycle retailers in BC. We’re working hard to ensure that the business keeps growing steadily by delivering on our high service vision and earning every customer!

The Business:
Different Bikes is not a franchise or a buying group. We are a locally owned and operated bike retailer currently with 3 locations. DB was founded by a small but diverse group of passionate cyclists all either experienced bike industry people or successful business people from other industries. Most of our full time shop employees and managers are
also owners in the business.

Different Bikes focuses on friendly and responsive service for all members of the family in neighbourhood-style, personal shop environments.

We offer a wide range of parts, clothing and accessories from nearly every brand in the industry. Our bicycle brands are focused on major Canadian and local brands including Rocky Mountain, Norco and Kona, in addition to specialty bikes from Electra, Knolly, Wilier, Moots, Dekerf, Independent Fabrication, Surly and others.

Different Bikes is a proud member of the communities we operate in, striving to provide time, funds and products to local charities and programs that support children and/or active lifestyles.

Muddbunnies Riding Club is honoured to be sponsored by such a devoted and passionate company.
